Safety

We assure every display is a safe display.

Thanks to meticulous procedures and a dedicated team with many years of experience, Fireworks Down Under boasts an incident-free record spanning many breath-taking displays.

Here are just some of the ways we ensure safety is of paramount concern:

  • Fireworks Down Under works to our Government-approved Safety Management System.
  • We comply with all local, state and federal laws regarding fireworks displays and meet or exceed the safety distances required by the Australian Standard for Fireworks Displays AS2187, Explosives Act 1999 and Explosives Regulation 2003.
  • Our staff conduct a Hazard and Risk Assessment for each display site and erect the required barriers and warning signs at the display site.
  • We have two-way radios for easy on-site communication. Fire-fighting equipment is taken to each display site. Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] is worn by all staff.
  • For each display Fireworks Down Under notifies the appropriate authorities and gives the event organiser the relevant information on government requirements. We arrange with the event organiser to notify the neighbours of the event to allow them to manage their families’ and pet’s safety.
  • All of our fireworks have a testing certificate of compliance and are stored at the government magazine at Helidon. They are transported to the display site in approved vehicles and the remains are safety disposed after the display.
  • All equipment used is designed and tested to meet the Australian Standards. Managing Director Warren Ritchie designs and builds Firework Down Under’s electric firing systems and related equipment.
  • All equipment is kept well-maintained and safe to use.
